Mission

  1. Disseminate and expand the development of knowledge in science and technology through education and research, and prepare and support the development of human capital as an important and strategic aspect for the sustainable development of Timor-Leste.
  2. Implement teaching and learning, scientific research, and social service at higher education level in the area of education and health, as well as professional development in science and technology, according to international standards, and to support students achieve an adequate qualification and profession.

Objective

  1. Students will be competent in nursing practice and able to provide services to the patients with the basic health needs;
  2. To engage student in an evidence-based practice and clinical judgement in performing their nursing services throughout their theoretical and practical endeavors as pre-service nurse;
  3. Facilitate and create an environment that enable them experience a real case scenario in service duty as nurse, and guide them to observe applicable nursing procedures and ethical approach for a safety, effectivity and quality of service to the patients and clients;
  4. Create an environment that enable students to experience in approaching nursing practice collaboratively with their team, and build cultural sensitivity and good inter-personal relation skills during their engagement with patients, families and community;
  5. Student will have an extensive practical activity in collecting data and utilizing information management system for medical and health purpose activities, for a robust systematic approach in performing the nursing practice with peers and health professionals;
  6. Facilitate students to develop a life-long learning skills to approach nursing procedure and norms as requisite to the responsibility and accountability of their profession;
  7. Enable them to be an objectivist and divisive for a best practice in nursing, and able to promote quality health care system and contribute to improvement of the patients and the community health;
  8. Advocate on the current best-practices for the improvement of the nursing management system and leadership towards quality and safety rules of the patients and families’ health need
